World Bank Director of Education: We have no reason to keep schools closed during COVID-19

World Bank Director of Education

School closures in the wake of COVID-19 will no longer be justifiable, says World Bank Director Global Education Jaime Saavedra, adding that school closures are a last resort regardless of new waves of the disease that come in. So it is. The team of Saavedra monitors the education sector’s impact on Kovid-19. He said that coronavirus cases have not increased since schools reopened, and schools are not ‘safe places’. According to Saavedra, it makes no sense from a public policy standpoint to wait until children are vaccinated.

World Bank Director of Education Coronavirus spread does not coincide with the opening of schools

Saavedra told a Washington news agency that opening schools and spreading the Coronavirus have nothing to do with each other. School closures are not justified because we don’t have evidence linking the two. The closing of schools should always be a last resort, even if new waves of Kovid-19 come into being.

There are no schools, restaurants, bars, or shopping malls open. I don’t understand this.
There should be no restaurants, bars, or shopping malls; schools should be closed. As various World Bank studies suggest, there can be no excuses. The health risks to children are lessened even when schools are closed.

We don’t know how to handle the epidemic.

During the year 2020, we were acting foolishly, he said. Throughout most of the world, schools have been closed immediately due to the pandemic, and we are still unsure what the most appropriate solution will be. It has been many years since then, and many waves have happened since 2020 and 2021.

Schools are not responsible for the increase in infections.

The newly released data shows the opening of schools does not affect virus transmission. Saavedra said. Schools are not to blame for the increase in infections when schools have been closed. Children rarely die or suffer serious illnesses. The risk is low, and the cost is high.

Learning loss is much higher than estimated.

As per World Bank Director of Education No country, according to him, has set school reopening conditions only after vaccinations have taken place. This is because that is unscientific and does not make sense from an educational point of view. And it is estimated that much more education will be lost because of it. I’ll add a language input here.
