The Uttar Pradesh government has released important statements for the recruitment of graduate students further fixing equivalence of appointment for graduate-level students. They stated that graduation courses or technical programs offered by central, state, or to-be-deemed universities will be considered equal to graduation. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recognized courses will also be considered equivalent to graduation.
It has been estimated that this decision will fill out more than 10,000 vacancies in different service departments. Out of these more than 6,900 vacancies will be provided by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). An official order is released by Additional Chief Secretary Personal Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi.
An order was issued by the High Court on 21 September 2021, stating the definition for equivalence of graduation courses based on the case of Vikas & 80 Others vs State. The official order stated that degrees recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development for various technical and non-technical courses will be considered equivalent to graduation.
Further information will be provided by the commission from the concerned departments. AICTE’s degree will also fulfill graduation criteria.
The Uttar Pradesh State Public Service Commission said that the equivalence of degrees depends upon graduate qualification and equivalent given in eligibility criteria by the commission and other educational institutions. In the case of technical posts required in the service department, specific qualifications might be required based on criteria set by the concerned department.
