University Grant Commission (UGC) released a public notice informing all HEIs stakeholders on 31st May 2023 at its official portal. The notice informs that NEP 2020 has the scope to encourage energized, dedicated, motivated, and capable faculty members.
UGC has listed the 66 HRDCs in HEIs regarding training programs for faculties’ development. Another notice unclosed the schedule of revised courses, short courses, and workshops/seminars for session 2023-24.
A public notice written on the letter pad of Manish R Joshi, Secretary UGC, has been issued to All heads of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) appreciating the roles of Human Resources Development Centres (HRDCs).
Secretary writes – “UGC-Human Resource Development Centres have contributed immensely towards training faculty of Higher Education Institutions to provide more effective teaching, professional and career development of teachers, necessary for quality education and research.” Further, the letter informs that sixty-six HRDCs will have scheduled training programs in the step of continuous professional development of faculty members for 2023-24.
In another notification entitled “Allotment of Programmes to HRDCs for 2023-24” UGC has listed 66 Human Resources Development Centres situated in respective Universities. The term introduced “Refresher Courses: Inter/Multi-Disciplinary” includes the courses that have been reviewed and revised. Along with this UGC has also framed and scheduled the workshop or Seminars to be held in the universities.
Seminars/Workshops on new topics include NEP 2020, MOOCS, NAAC, Climate Change in Kumaun University, Artificial Intelligence & Data Analysis, and Global Warming by Himachal Pradesh University will be organized in 2023-24. Faculties can earn “Short Term Fculty Double Programme on Innovation, Assessment and Evaluation”, “CBCS in Higher Education”, “Gender Sensitisation”, “Cyber Security”, etc.
