The NEP emphasizes the need for vibrant University-Industry linkages to provide students with exposure to real-life examples and enhance their global competence. It is believed that universities with effective industry interfaces will foster innovation and contribute to solving global challenges.
Under the proposed guidelines, students will have opportunities for internships, both with local industries and research institutions, which will enhance their employability. The guidelines also advocate for multidisciplinary and learner-centric education, focusing on the desired learning outcomes.
Stakeholders, including universities, industry representatives, educators, and students, are encouraged to provide their valuable suggestions and comments on the draft guidelines. Feedback can be sent to feedbackugc1@gmail.com until July 31, 2023.
The UGC aims to create a sustainable and vibrant University-Industry linkage system that will bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering collaboration, innovation, and skill development among students. The finalized guidelines will provide a roadmap for universities to establish strong ties with industries and contribute to the overall growth and development of the nation.
