University Grant Commission (UGC) had scheduled an orientation program for World Environment Day earlier. The program will be held today and addressed by the Honourable Education Minister of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in virtual mode at 12:30 PM. Students, Faculties & Heads of HEIs will participate through the Ministry of Environment Forests & Climate Change’s MERI LIFE Youtube Portal.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment Forests & Climate Change, the program connects through the MERI LIFE youtube portal.
UGC, Secretary Professor Manish R. Joshi, in a letter dated 16th May 2023, has asked all Higher Education Institutions to upload photos/videos of activities they will do on World Environment Day. H’nble Minister and UGC would consider these uploaded activities on the MERI LIFE portal. UGC has also requested to Vice Chancellors of all universities and the colleges’ Principles to ensure massive participation of faculties and students in the program.
Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change has already created the portal MERI LIFE.org to capture the initiations taken by colleges/universities in the step of environment awareness. UGC has also organized an orientation program for HEIs on the MERI LIFE portal on 24th May 2023. The link can be viewed at https://merilife.org/portal.
