The University Grant Commission (UGC) in a letter to all HEIs, informed that Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam’s (ABSS) second anniversary will be organized coincidentally with NEP’s third anniversary of implementation. The national-level Samagam will be inaugurated by the honorable PM Narendra Modi on the 29th and 30th of June at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. UGC reports all its Initiatives/reforms in the Samagam while HEIs will on the UTSAH portal.
The UGC through a letter uploaded on its website on 26th June 2023, has asked all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to share their progress reports/reforms on the Undertaking Transformative Strategies and Actions in Higher Education (UTSAH) portal. The portal was launched to track and support the various implementations regarding transformative changes in Higher education. This portal also serves as a repository for regulations, guidelines, and frameworks issued by the UGC.
Prof. Manish R. Joshi, the secretary of UGC, informs the HEIs that all reforms/initiatives implemented earlier were reported by the UGC last year in the National level Samagam at Varanasi. Likewise, it has been also decided by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in coordination with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MoSDE) to organize the second anniversary of ABSS on 29th -30th June 2023 in Delhi.
The date is also chosen because the New Education Policy was executed in 2020 on the same date. This program will be held at Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Samagam.
UGC Secretary has also requested HEIs heads “To participate actively in the Samagam and motivate the UTSAH portal according to New Education Policy 2020.” The letter has been sent to all Chief Secretaries of all states and All Principal Secretary/ Secretary, Higher Education of all states.
