The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) Committee 2023 is all processed to start its single-window counseling by the second week of July. K. Ponmudy, The Higher Education Minister who released the merit list on June 26, 2023, stated that it was preplanned that the engineering counseling would be delayed until the first round of medical counseling was administered. Generally, the counseling for engineering seats is held from Ist of July 2023. Earlier this year, the Minister also publicized that counseling would be held in August.
Many students who have studied the science stream in Class XII move ahead to opt for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), those who have qualified for the MBBS education in the country. Since then, the NEET has been made mandatory for engineering admission and has taken a hit as the toppers also qualify for MBBS. In Every session, hundreds of seats remain vacant in Anna University’s four campuses and some of the top-ranked colleges in the State. As per this consequence, the decision was taken to delay the admission process until the first round of counseling for MBBS was conducted.
