Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2023: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is the only university that secured a position in the top 50 Asia University Ranking 2023. JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research in Mysuru secured the 68th position whereas Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences in Bajhol, Himachal Pradesh secured the 77th position.
Mr. Phil Baty, THE’s (Times Higher Education’s) chief global affairs officer stated, “THE’s Asia University Rankings shines a bright light on higher education in a very diverse continent and shows India’s universities are becoming increasingly innovative and dynamic,”.
Mr. Baty further said, “The very rapid growth of Indian universities willing to put themselves forward for assessment in the international rankings is very impressive, showing a real appetite to compete on a global stage and to benchmark against the very best in the Asian continent, and the world.
The data shows an increasingly diverse and dynamic Indian higher education sector, with huge potential driven by the NEP reforms. The change that has taken place in India in the 11 years THE has been running this ranking is especially impressive,”.
Asia University Ranking provides scores to institutions based on the learning environment, the opportunity for research work, research influence, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. In 2022, a total of 63 universities participated in THE’s Asia University Ranking, this year several universities showed interest and the number of universities that participated reached 71.
