Because of the Kanwar Yatra, which started on Tuesday and will end on August 15, government and private schools in Uttar Pradesh have decided to be closed from July 8 to 16. This step was taken to make room for the journey, during which people bring holy water from the Ganga River to give to Lord Shiva. In many areas across UP, schools and colleges have been forced to close. All government and private schools in the Muzaffarnagar area will be closed for eight days, starting on July 8 and ending on July 16, 2023.
In the same way, all schools and colleges in Meerut have been told to close on July 10. This means that schools, degree courses, and coaching centres will be closed from July 10 to July 17. Also, schools in Baghpat and Saharanpur have been told to close by the government.
Due to the Kanwar Yatra, Manoj Kumar, who is the District Magistrate of Badaun, has told all schools from first grade to eighth grade to close. Because of this, these schools will be closed on Saturday and Monday, but they will be open as usual on Tuesday.
Polytechnic exams in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar have also been pushed back. The tests, which were supposed to happen from July 10 to 15, will now happen from July 21 to 26.
Several steps have been taken to make sure that the yatra is safe and secure. Muzaffarnagar DM Arvind Mallappa Bengari said that 1,379 CCTV cameras have been put in places that are important. Also, 3,000 police officers have been sent to protect the yatra, and drones are being used to keep an eye on things. Ganga Canal Road has been closed to heavy traffic so that nothing bad will happen during the journey. From July 11, traffic on the Delhi-Haridwar National Highway will be redirected, and traffic on the Delhi-Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar highways will be sent on different paths. The goal of these precautions is to make sure that the Kanwar Yatra goes smoothly while putting public safety first.
