Officials from Delhi University said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will basically lay the foundation stone for three new buildings and release a series of coffee table books at the closing event of the university’s anniversary celebrations.
According to them, the faculty of technology, together with a computer center and an academic block, will be located in these contemporary buildings that have seven and a half stories and an additional one on the top.
The Honourable Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education of the Union, would be Attending the Ceremony as the Special Guest. According to Prakash Singh, Director of DU South Campus, the Prime Minister will also produce three coffee table books, one of which would be a book dedicated to the Prime Minister’s emblem.
The prime minister will lay down the foundation for three different buildings:
- The academic block at Maurice Nagar,
- The College of Technology on the North Campus, and
- The computer center
He assured me that the construction of these buildings will be completed within the following two years.
In preparation for the next academic year, DU has designed a Bachelor of Technology program that can accommodate up to 360 students. They will have access to the faculty building that focuses on technology. As part of the closing ceremony, there will be a display detailing the university’s first century of existence, which will be held in the basement of the Multipurpose Hall.
According to an official, the Vice Chancellor, Yogesh Singh, is keeping a close watch on the preparations being made for all of the events. This topic was discussed at length at a meeting on advance security liaison that took place on Tuesday. The meeting was summoned by the vice-chancellor.
According to the official, the meeting on advance security liaison was attended by the chairpersons of many committees constituted for the closing ceremony, relevant government agencies dealing with traffic, security, police, etc., and other senior university officials.
