After the addition of these nine additional courses, Sreenarayanaguru Open University will offer a total of 23 different ones.
University officials held a press conference to announce that Sreenarayanaguru Open University (SGOU) has been granted permission by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to introduce nine new programs beginning with the academic year 2023-2024.
B.Com, BBA, and Afzal-ul-Ulama were the undergraduate programs that were given the green light, while M.Com, MA Economics, MA Sanskrit, MA Philosophy, MA Arabic, and MA Hindi were the postgraduate programs that were given the green light.
The current number of courses offered by SGOU is 13. The next additions, together with the Afzal-ul-Ulama Preliminary course that is planned for this academic year, will raise the overall number of courses to 23.
In the past, students have been able to register in comparable programs via distance education at a number of Kerala’s universities; but, moving ahead, only students at SGOU would be allowed to do so.
According to P.M. Mubarak Pasha, who serves as the vice chancellor of the Universities, the procedure for accepting new students will begin on July 1 and continue through August 31, 2023.
Officials from SGOU assert that the curriculum for all 23 of the university’s curricula has been developed. There are now 39 educational institutions located around the state, and everything has been put in place to give students with counseling services. The University has also reached partnerships with
- The Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA),
- The Digital University of Kerala,
- The Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), and
- Factories & Boilers as part of its goal to diversify its operations.
‘Navakerala Nirmithiyil Oruthulli,’ a goal to make Kerala a completely graduate State, and ‘BA Nano Entrepreneurship,’ a curriculum that permits dropouts to become entrepreneurs, are two additional notable university programs. Both of these programs are aimed at making Kerala a fully graduated State.
