University Grants Commission (UGC), launches the SAARTHI scheme on Wednesday at the official portal aiming at 300 SAARTHIs will help the NEP 2020 in academic reforms. UGC asked the HEIs head to propose three students’ names, across India, From the group, about 300 students will be selected as student ambassadors. UGC has described information related to Dates, Guidelines, Roles, and Responsibilities in the notification.
As a visionary scheme for transforming the education system through NEP 2020, UGC expressed the need to acquire 300 Saarthi across India from several Higher Educational institutions. Remember, more than hundreds of students organization and intellectuals have opposed NEP 2020 alleging the policy is a step forward to privatize public Higher Educational Institutions. Hitting the masterstroke UGC took the initiative involving students to promote the NEP Policies, programs, and activities in University-colleges.
The selected ambassadors will be awarded a proud certificate, appreciated on UGC media platforms, and permitted to publish their articles in UGC-recognised newsletters. The ambassador will have to promote the NEP schemes, and initiatives, launch programs, and universities/colleges, on Nukkads, and Chaupals, and by holding a NEP Help Desk for students. They may promote the NEP via social media also.
Publish this notification UGC informed that the Application will be accepted from May 23rd onwards to the end of June 2023, and selected students’ names will be unclosed in July 2023. Students wishing for SAARTHI can apply by sending a write-up to their respective institution’s head.
