A recent survey found that up to 15% more people take the IELTS test in India to study in or migrate to an English-speaking country.
People who don’t speak English as their first language take the (IELTS) to show how good they are at speaking and writing English. This is a test that is used all over the world. More than 10,000 companies use the exam across the globe to show how good a person is at English.
IDP Education Limited, which controls the IELTS within India, released the data.
Piyush Kumar, the regional director for South Asia and Mauritius at IDP Education, says that the number of people taking the IELTS this year is up 10-15% from last year, which was a normal year before the virus.
Earlier this week, IDP opened 23 new offices across India: in Ahmedabad; Anand; Raipur; Himachal, Kurukshetra; Kashmir; Patna; Guwahati; Calicut; and Goa.
“These new offices will provide global counselling services both virtually and in person to students who study in top colleges and institutions across New Zealand, and Ireland Australia, USA, UK, Canada, ,” Kumar said.
“From choosing a course and college, to getting a visa, to renting an apartment, to applying for healthcare coverage, to opening bank accounts, such new offices have dedicated study abroad experts who can help students with their entire study abroad journey.”
