JoSAA is counselling IIT-NIT applicants in 116 institutes nationwide. These schools offer 57,182 places. Students can report online until 5 pm on July 10 after the second seat allotment.
If a student’s uploaded documents are insufficient during online reporting, they must answer by 5 pm on July 11 or lose their seat.
In the second phase of JoSAA counselling seat allotment, a student with a rank of 946,894 from the gender-neutral pool was given the electronics and communication branch from the home state quota at NIT Mizoram in the open category, according to career counselling specialist Amit Ahuja. IIT Dharwad’s Interdisciplinary Science division had the gender-neutral pool’s closing rank, 16,186.
Another female student with a rank of 1,057,910, including super numerical seats from the female pool quota, was given the electrical branch from the home state quota at NIT Mizoram in the open category. The female pool quota closing rank for IITs was 24,708, which was the Intra-disciplinary Science branch in Dharwad.
Dual Validation
Ahuja said that students who were given seats from IITs to NITs or vice versa in the second round will have their first-round documentation re-verified. Verification will validate newly assigned seats.
Students who have already been assigned seats and have decided to float and slide will be assigned seats in IITs or NITs in the second round based on their verified papers. Online reporting does not require these pupils to upload their documents again. Change their float option to slide and freeze or freeze to continue counselling. These pupils cannot claim another place after the first round.
