Govt of India Launches Study In India: Indian Government launched a “Study In India” portal yesterday on 3rd August 2023 on an occasion in Delhi. The portal SII attracts International students for Higher Education in India. The govt seeks to make India a global hub of Education. The website helps foreign students in Academic facilities, and Research info and was approved for an integrated authority of the visa application process.
The Two Union Ministers, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Ministry of Education, and Shri S Jaishankar, Ministry of External Affairs inaugurated the portal jointly. The Government of India aims to globalize Indian Higher Education knowledge. As the New Education Policy is committed to transforming the Indian Education System and seeks a multicultural global education environment, the portal invites the diverse backgrounds of International students to interact with and benefit the domestic students in India.

During the launching of the portal, Minister of External Affairs, Shri S Jaishnkar highlighted the Government’s commitment “Study In India portal is a step towards the government’s vision of making India a global hub of education and will establish a strong footprint of ‘India’ as a brand in the Education world.” He authorized the portal for registration to visa approval for International students.
The portal will also help the students in selecting the courses, university/college/institution by presenting information on Certification and Ranking determining authorities’ partnership with the institutions. He added, “The portal simplifies the International students’ journey in India.” The Foreign minister referenced New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as “The implementation of NEP 2020 has already opened the entrance gate for Foreign Universities in India and allowed our premier Institutions to open the International campuses.”
Speaking on the occasion Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said “Study In India Portal is guided by the NEP and shows our intention to blur the academic boundaries for shaping a prosperous future.” The portal is dedicated to presenting information about Higher Education Institutions of India (HEIs).
The website extracts the information of Academic courses covering the UG, PG, and PhD level doctoral degrees. Apart from these it also attracts International students for the Indian Knowledge System(IKS) courses like Yoga, Ayurveda, and Classical Arts, etc.

- National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) – (institutions under 100 Ranking)

- Institutes of National Importance(INI) – Universities or Institutions recognised under National Importance Category)

The senior officials of the Ministry of Education and Ambassadors of More than 10 Countries became the eyewitness of the occasion. Apart from these, Minister Smt. Annapurna Devi, Shri Rajkumar Singh, & Dr Subhas Sarkar (Minister for State Education), and Dr Mahesh Sharma Member of Parliament also attended the program.
