DU UG Spot Admission 2023: University of Delhi has announced the first round of seat allocation for Undergraduate admission for the 2023-2024 session. By issuing a press release on its official website the DU has also issued a detailed schedule to follow the process by students and institutions in order to do a successful admission under the Spot Admission Round 1. An official portal @admission.uod.ac.in also has been given to visit for students’s convenience.
Spot admission has been conducted for those students who have left to apply for counseling registration at DU or other universities. In order to provide a chance universities have been asked to hold round name “Spot” admission for such students.
After the implementation of the CUET process, the admission process has become more complicated for not only students but for guardians also. No one is getting the clear possession and aim of such glittering. The starting of the Counseling registration process before the declaration of CUET results caused more confusion among the students.
This led to the exclusion of lakhs of students from admission. Inviting online applications for online counseling makes no sense. After realizing the data, UGC gives a chance through universities as spot admission, but it’s too late, not sufficient, and out of reach of rural students as the majority of students in India are not Internet-friendly.
However, this spot admission process consists of a short time to apply, fee payments, seat allocation, and a document verification process (It is not clarified whether the students have to upload the documents once again or institutes will proceed with the documents uploaded by students earlier while applying for form and counseling registration.)
The DU Spot round I Admission schedule is as follows –
- The Du had declared the vacant seats for spot admission – on August 29, 2023
- Candidates were given the time to apply for spot admission – till 30th August 2023
- The Delhi University allotted seats under spot admission – on 01st, September 2023
- Candidates will have time to “Accept” only the allocated seats – till 01st September 2023
- Colleges will verify and approve the online applications – till 04th September 2023
- Students will have time to pay the admission fee – till 05th September 2023
If there will be more seats vacant to fill, the University may conduct more spot Rounds the notifications say. Students should remember that they would have no right of options to withdraw the admission or change the subject once the seat is allocated under Spot Admission.
