Chartered Accountants Day 2023: History
CA Day was first initiated back in 1949 when an ICAI was established by passing an act in the Parliament of India. The ICAI is an independent body in charge of maintaining all activities related to Chartered Accountancy in India. The decision of dedicating a particular day to celebrating CAs has helped in the formal initiation of the ICAI which has a major role in the field of accountancy in India.
Earlier when the Institue of Chartered Accountants was not established in India, the field of accounting profession was not regulated and was unstructured. In a broad sense, the development of ICAI led to a system that provided quality education, professional conduct, and qualification for CAs all across India.
