The director of education administration department in Bihar recently issued an order which stated that “ it has been noticed that officials and employees of the department are coming to offices in attires which are contrary to the office culture. Wearing casuals in the office by officials or other employees is against the work culture in the office.
Therefore, all officials and employees should come to education department offices in formal dress only. No casual dresses, especially jeans and T-shirts are not allowed in the offices of the education department with immediate effect”.
This step was taken, keeping in consideration that the District Magistrate of Saran, in April, banned all government employees from wearing casual clothes like jeans and T-shirts in government offices, they were instructed to wear formal dresses and carry an identity card.
Previously the Bihar government 2019 banned wearing informal clothes such as jeans and T-shirts in the state secretariat, despite the position of the employee. This step was taken to maintain decorum at the workplace.
